Plastic Beach
Blown and hot sculpted glass.
“One million plastic bottles are sold worldwide every minute”. “More than 8 million tons of plastic bottles end up in the sea each year.” “One in three fish caught for human consumption contains plastic”... It is easy to walk past daily headlines like these, but a photograph of a
sea turtle eating a plastic bag can have more impact
than a thousand words . The mutated fish- bottles of my piece are a visual representation of the damage plastic waste
is causing to our oceans and marine life, which I hope may make the viewer stop and consider.
